Games and toys in the past


In history we have been talking about games and toys and how they have changed over the years. To help us gather evidence of what toys were like in the past we interviewed our parents and grandparents. We asked them questions to help us find out what toys were like when they were younger. Here are two of the interviews:
Mecheile carried out an interview with her mammy
1.     What kind of toys did you play with? rag dolls, skipping ropes and bikes.
2.    How have toys changed from when you were younger? The toys today are all electric with a lot of chargers.
3.    Did you enjoy playing with your toys? I loved it! Every evening after school with my friends playing mammy and daddy with our dolls.
4.    Did you have many toys? No not really as I came from a family of thirteen so we shared what we had or made up our own games.
5.    Do you still have any of your old toys? I do yes an old teddy and my rag doll Sally.
6.    What games did you play when you were younger? hop scotch, dolls and prams, playing doctors and nurses
7.    Which game did you like the best? Playing with my dolls in my Wendy house
8.    Did you make up any of your own games? Yes we made a swing with an old tyre and tied it to a tree

Denisa interviewed her mum.
1.     What kind of toys did you play with? Barbies, teddies, dolls and a teddy that sucks his thumb.
2.    How have toys changed from when you were younger? Now things are more electric.
3.    Did you enjoy playing with your toys? Yes a lot.
4.    Did you have many toys? Yes a lot.
5.    Do you still have any of your old toys? no.
6.    What games did you play when you were younger? Match cards and don’t  be angry.
7.    Which game did you like the best? I liked all of them.
8.    Did you make up any of your own games? I do not remember.
